Published on May 23, 2023 by Travel House USA

Hari Budha Magar, a former British Gurkha soldier, has become the world’s first double above-the-knee amputee to climb Mount Everest. He reported reaching the summit of Everest around 3:10 p.m. on 19 May 2023, Friday and has now safely returned to base camp. Budhamagar expressed gratitude to Sherpa brothers for his successful climb and hopes that this will transform the way people of varied abilities are perceived. He has also completed the ascent of Mount Toubkal, Morocco’s highest peak in North Africa, paragliding and skydriving from a helicopter, and the world’s second highest bunjyjump and the world’s highest swing at Kusma. He has also climbed Mont Blanc, Chulu Far East, Kilimanjaro, and Mera Peak.
